This is a layered painting. I did the first layer of this large painting during the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver - it reflects the tides and weather during the Olympics, as well as the North Shore mountains, where many events were held. I then subsequently went back into the painting and further developed the North Shore aspect, including the beloved “Lions”. Hence the reference to “Pentimento”, or “a visible trace of earlier painting beneath a layer or layers of paint on a canvas”.
This has been a favourite of mine, but I find myself with limited wall space due to downsizing - hence the discounted pricing.
